A short while ago we had the honour of capturing Rachel & Bobby’s timeless wedding day at Doltone House Darling IslandĀ in Pyrmont, Sydney.
Needless to say, Doltone House Darling Island is a fabulous venue that has been holding weddings for decades!
We were blessed with sunny weather to start the early morning and the crew split up to respectively head to the groom’s preparations and the bride’s preparations in different suburbs.
At the parent’s house where the groom was getting ready, guests started to arrive in true Macedonian style!
Lots of singing and lots of dancing to get the energy pumping in the morning, along with the age old tradition of shaving the groom’s beard before he gets married and leaves the family.
At the brides on the other hand, the contrast of a much more quiet morning preparations as the bride and bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup done. We captured them in their bridal squad robes along with their official dresses for the day.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Macedonian Orthodox Church of Sts Kiril & Metodi at 20 Dalmeny Ave, Rosebery NSW 2018. As COVID19 subsided earlier in the year, they were able to have more guests and family attend the ceremony than usual.
Emotions were definitely felt in the air as our bride walked down the aisle with her father and the groom and groomsmen watched on.
They exchanged vowels with the priest and sealed the deal with a big kiss in front of family and friends!
After the ceremony, we went for wedding location photography and video at Observatory Hill Park, where there’s a nice view with the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, the space observatory and the Crown Sydney hotel.
By the time we wrapped up location shoot, it was time to head to Doltone House Darling Island to party the night away.
Rachel & Bobby made their grand entrance into the venue with epic fireworks and dry ice to accomodate along with a shot of vodka!
